To be sure your game is updated automatically, go to Library on Steam and right click on Syberia 3 in the menu on the left (games list), go to Properties and then click on the Updates tab, check the drop-down menu is set to "Always keep the game up to date".

(You will notice on this tab that at the bottom there is a drop-down menu allowing to disable / activate downloads in background, depending on the case it may be interesting to disable it).
